Beronia has made Rioja since 1970, and unlike most Rioja producers built its winery next to the vineyards rather than in town — grapes travel minutes, not hours, from vine to press. Genuine imported stock, delivered nationwide across the Philippines.

Reading a Rioja Label

Rioja ages by law, not just by choice, and the label tells you how long: Crianza means at least two years' ageing with one in oak; Reserva means three years with at least one in oak; Gran Reserva means five years, with at least two in oak. More time in wood generally means more structure and less bright fruit.

Serving in Philippine Weather

Reds at 16 to 18°C — twenty minutes out of the ref, longer-aged Reserva and Gran Reserva can take slightly longer to open up. Viura and Rosé colder, 8 to 10°C.

What's the real difference between Crianza, Reserva and Gran Reserva?
Legally defined ageing time — Crianza is the shortest, Gran Reserva the longest. More ageing generally means more oak influence, softer tannins and less of the bright, primary fruit a young wine has.
