Description
Distilled in a Copper Berry Chamber — One of Only Two in the World
Caorunn is made at Balmenach Distillery in Speyside using a Copper Berry Chamber built in the 1920s. There are only two known to exist. Rather than boiling botanicals with the spirit, the vapour passes slowly through trays of botanicals laid out in the chamber — a gentler extraction that takes far longer than conventional distillation.
Eleven botanicals, five of them foraged in the Scottish Highlands: rowan berry, bog myrtle, heather, coul blush apple and dandelion leaf.
Product Highlights
- Small batch Scottish gin from Speyside
- Distilled in a 1920s Copper Berry Chamber — one of two in the world

- 40% ABV, 700ml bottle
- Crisp and dry, with a distinctly Scottish character
Tasting Notes
- Nose: Crisp apple, juniper, floral heather
- Palate: Clean and dry — orchard fruit, rowan berry tartness, gentle spice
- Finish: Crisp and refreshing, faintly bittersweet
How to Serve
The distillery's own serve is a G&T with a slice of red apple rather than citrus — it echoes the coul blush apple in the botanicals, and it genuinely works better than lime here.
