Why Belgium Punches Above Its Size in Beer

Belgium has one of the world's most varied brewing traditions for a country its size — witbier, strong pale ale, lambic, dubbel and tripel all developed within its borders, often shaped by monastery brewing traditions going back centuries. Hoegaarden and Stella Artois represent two very different corners of that tradition.

How to Serve It

Hoegaarden very cold, 3 to 5°C. Stella Artois slightly warmer, 4 to 6°C, to let the Saaz hop character come through.
