Australia

Australian wine from Yellow Tail, Hardys and Brown Brothers — reds, whites, rosé, Moscato and sparkling. All genuine imported stock, delivered nationwide across the Philippines, in retail and wholesale quantities.

Why Australian Wine Suits the Philippines

Australian wine is made in a hot country for a hot country, and that shows in three ways that matter here.

Screw caps, not corks. Australia moved to screw caps almost universally. No corkscrew, no cork taint, and — more usefully — an opened bottle reseals properly and keeps two to three days in the ref. For a household that does not finish a bottle in one sitting, that is a real advantage.

Ripe fruit rather than austerity. Warm-climate grapes ripen fully, so Australian reds are softer and rounder than their European equivalents at the same price. Less tannin to work through, more immediate enjoyment.

Low-alcohol sweet whites done well. Australian Moscato sits around 7.5% ABV — roughly half a standard wine — which is why it works through a long warm afternoon where a 13.5% red does not.

What We Stock

Yellow Tail

Made by the Casella family in Yenda, New South Wales, and probably the most recognisable wine label on a Filipino dining table. The range runs from Shiraz and Cabernet through Merlot to the Moscatos, plus 187ml Joey mini bottles — about one glass each, useful for picnics and events.

Hardys

Winemaking since 1853, five generations on. The Crest range honours Sir James Hardy and sits above the everyday tiers — more oak, more depth.

Brown Brothers

Victorian family winery known for aromatic and sweet styles, including Moscato and Cienna.

Which Australian Wine Should You Buy?

• For barbecue and grilled liempo: Shiraz. Ripe and peppery, and it handles char.
• For steak: Cabernet Sauvignon. The firmest of the Australian reds.
• For a weeknight, or someone new to red: Merlot. Soft, low tannin, no work required.
• For a party: Moscato or Pink Moscato. Low alcohol, sweet, and people finish them.
• For seafood: Chardonnay.
• For a picnic or an event: the 187ml Joey minis — one glass, no leftovers, no corkscrew.

Serving in Philippine Weather

Reds at 16 to 18°C — twenty minutes in the ref before pouring. Whites and rosé at 8 to 10°C. Moscato and sweet styles colder still, 6 to 8°C, and keep the bottle on ice if you are outdoors.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are screw caps lower quality than corks?
No — the opposite, for wines meant to be drunk young. Screw caps eliminate cork taint entirely and seal more reliably. Australia adopted them across the board for exactly that reason.

What is the difference between Moscato and Pink Moscato?
Colour and fruit. Moscato is white with peach and tropical notes; Pink Moscato has a touch of red grape for colour and leads on strawberry. Both are sweet, lightly sparkling and low in alcohol.

How long does an opened bottle keep?
Two to three days in the ref with the screw cap back on — better than a corked bottle manages.

Do you deliver nationwide?
Yes. Everything is packed in secure, well-cushioned packaging built for glass, and we supply both retail and wholesale buyers across the Philippines.
