Hardys has been making Australian wine since 1853 — five generations of one family, and one of the oldest continuously operating wine businesses in the country.
The Crest Range
Crest honours Sir James Hardy, fourth generation of the family. It sits above the everyday Hardys tiers: more oak influence, more depth, and fuller body than the price suggests.
What We Stock
Crest Cabernet Sauvignon — blackberry and blackcurrant carried on fine, cocoa-like tannins, with vanilla biscuit oak. Medium to full-bodied, and soft rather than firm. The steak bottle.
Crest Sparkling White Moscato — lightly sparkling, 9% ABV, with citrus and passionfruit. Comes in a glow-in-the-dark label, which tells you exactly what occasion it was made for.
Serving in Philippine Weather
The Cabernet at 16 to 18°C — twenty minutes in the ref before pouring makes a real difference here. The Moscato very cold, 6 to 8°C, straight from the ref and on ice if you are outdoors.
Sparkling Moscato — fresh mango, cheesecake, and spicy dishes where sweetness cools the heat
Why Australian Wine Suits This Climate
Screw caps throughout — no corkscrew, and an opened bottle reseals and keeps two to three days in the ref. Warm-climate fruit also means softer, rounder reds than European equivalents at the same price.
For adults of legal drinking age only. Please enjoy responsibly.
