Singha

Singha is Thailand's original beer, brewed since 1933 and named for the mythological lion of Thai and Hindu legend.

100% Barley Malt — No Adjuncts

Most mass-market lager uses rice or corn alongside barley to cut cost and lighten the body. Singha does not. Combined with Saaz hops — the Czech variety found in classic European pilsners — that makes it fuller and hoppier than most Southeast Asian lagers.

Which matters practically: it holds up against strongly flavoured and spicy food, where a lighter beer simply disappears.

Tasting Notes

• Appearance: Golden and clear with a firm head
• Nose: Malt with a distinct Saaz hop lift
• Palate: Full-bodied and rich, with strong hop character
• Finish: Crisp, with lasting bitterness

How to Serve It

Cold, 4 to 6°C, poured into a glass rather than drunk from the bottle — there is more aroma here than in a standard lager and it is worth letting out.

Food Pairing

Pad thai, green curry and Thai food generally; spicy Bicol Express and sisig, where the hops stand up to chilli; grilled seafood; fried chicken and pulutan.
