Beronia was founded in 1973 by a group of friends who wanted wine to drink with their own food — the winery still describes itself that way. It sits in Ollauri, in Rioja Alta.
This is single-varietal Tempranillo, Rioja's defining grape, made without the long barrel ageing of a Crianza or Reserva. What you taste is the fruit rather than the oak, which makes it the most immediate wine in the range.
