Where it sits: the same age as the standard 12 but a different whisky, and bottled at 43% rather than 40%.
Where the standard Dalmore 12 finishes in Oloroso alone, this one uses both Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez. PX is the sweeter, denser of the two sherries — pressed from sun-dried grapes — and it pushes the whisky toward raisin and chocolate rather than citrus.
The extra three percentage points of strength give it more weight too.

How It Differs From the Standard 12
Same distillery, same age, different finish. The standard 12 uses Oloroso only and lands on chocolate and orange. This adds Pedro Ximénez, which brings raisin and a deeper sweetness, and it is bottled three points stronger. If you already own the 12 and want more of what you like about it, this is the one.
How to Serve
Neat, in a nosing glass. At 43% a few drops of water will open it up without thinning it. No ice.
