Stoli is distilled from a blend of wheat and rye rather than wheat alone — the rye is what gives it a faint peppery edge where a pure wheat vodka would be entirely neutral.
It is then filtered four times: through quartz sand, birch charcoal, and finally woven cloth. That birch charcoal step is a traditional Russian technique and part of why Stoli has a slightly fuller texture than most vodkas at this price.
