A scion of the stately Northern Philippine Highlands, Spectre 431 is an old-world classic shaped by the distinct splendour of its home. Crystal spring water and the choicest barley, entrusted to oak and time — a single malt built for opulence rather than easy drinking.
It comes from Witchcraft Distillery, founded in 2015 by Master Distiller Jackson So, producer of the first single malt whiskey from the Northern Philippine Highlands.

Tasting Notes
- Nose: A smoky veil layered in caramel and mild vanilla, unfolding into dark chocolate, lifted by a delicate chorus of florals
- Palate: Velvety smoke revealing oak, marmalade and a second wave of dark chocolate, rounded by subtle spice and roasted nuttiness
- Finish: Oak asserts itself with deep, resonant strength before giving way to dried fruit and a whisper of ginger
How to Serve
Neat, in a nosing glass, at room temperature. This is a whisky with a lot going on — the smoke, chocolate and marmalade arrive in sequence, and it needs a few minutes in the glass to show that. A few drops of water rather than ice.
How It Differs From Avallach
Same distillery, two directions. Spectre 431 is the smoky, complex one — dark chocolate, marmalade, velvety smoke. Avallach is the honeyed one — vanilla, coconut and caramel, no smoke. Start with Avallach if you want easy; start here if you want depth.
