Description
Distilled in Scotland, Matured in Jerez
Nomad is a whisky with two homes. It is distilled and initially aged in Scotland, then shipped to Jerez in southern Spain — the sherry capital — where it completes its maturation in the cellars of González Byass.
Almost no other whisky does this. Most Scotch that sees sherry influence uses casks shipped to Scotland; Nomad sends the whisky to the casks instead, and finishes it in the Andalusian climate rather than the Scottish one. Heat and humidity do different things to a maturing spirit, which is why this tastes unlike a sherried Scotch matured at home.
