This one started with a conversation at a bar. Jameson's Head of Whiskey Science and the head brewer of a local craft brewery swapped barrels — the brewery aged stout in Jameson casks, and Jameson finished whiskey in the stout-seasoned barrels that came back.
The result is triple-distilled Irish whiskey with cocoa, coffee and hops layered over the usual orchard fruit. It remains one of the few genuinely successful beer-cask whiskeys.
