Lasanta means "warmth and passion" in Gaelic, and the name is doing real work — this is the warm one. Ten years in bourbon casks first, then a further two in Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks from Jerez.
Two sherry types rather than one is the detail that matters. Oloroso brings nuts and spice; Pedro Ximénez, pressed from sun-dried grapes, brings raisin and chocolate. Together they turn Glenmorangie's naturally delicate spirit into something considerably richer.

Tasting Notes

How to Serve
Neat, in a nosing glass. At 43% a few drops of water will open the sherry character without thinning it. No ice — cold flattens the chocolate and raisin notes you are paying for.
How It Differs From The Original
Same distillery, same age, entirely different whisky. The Original is bourbon-matured throughout — light, citrus, floral, 40%. Lasanta adds a sherry finish and three extra points of strength: richer, spicier, darker. If you like sherried malts, start here rather than with The Original.
