Aberfeldy was built in 1898 by the Dewar family, and its whisky is the heart of the Dewar's blends. The distillery draws water from the Pitilie Burn, a stream that carries trace gold — which is where "The Golden Dram" comes from, and it is a rare case of a marketing name having a literal basis.
Twelve years in oak produces the honeyed richness that defines the house style. Approachable enough for a first single malt, structured enough to keep a seasoned drinker interested.
