Building a Home Bar
You do not need many bottles. Six will cover almost every drink anyone will ask you for:
- A blended whisky — for highballs and Old Fashioneds
- A London Dry gin — for G&Ts, martinis and Negronis
- A blanco tequila — for margaritas and palomas
- A white or gold rum — for mojitos, daiquiris and rum-and-coke
- A neutral vodka — for anything where the spirit should not announce itself
- One bottle you actually want to drink neat — a single malt, an añejo tequila or an aged rum
Everything after that is preference rather than necessity.
What We Stock, By Category
Whisky
Scotch blends and single malts, Irish, bourbon and rye, Japanese, and new-world whisky from Australia, Taiwan and the Philippines. Hot-climate distilleries mature far faster than Scottish ones, which is why a young Taiwanese or Filipino malt can taste considerably older than its age.
Tequila and mezcal
The three expressions are the whole decision. Blanco is unaged — bright, peppery, made for margaritas. Reposado rests a few months in oak — rounder, the versatile one. Añejo spends a year or more in barrel — for sipping, and wasted in a cocktail. Mezcal is a different spirit entirely: Oaxacan, pit-roasted, genuinely smoky.
Gin
Juniper-led London Dry for classic G&Ts and Negronis, citrus-forward small-batch gins for martinis, and flavoured gins where the fruit is distilled in rather than added. Also Filipino craft gin made with botanicals foraged in the Cordilleras.
Rum
Caribbean white and gold rum for mixing, and aged Philippine rum for sipping. Tropical ageing matters here: seven or ten years in Philippine heat does considerably more to a spirit than the same time in Scotland or Kentucky would.
Vodka
Neutral by design — the point is what it does not taste of. Flavoured expressions handle the citrus for you in a highball.
Brandy, cognac and liqueurs
French cognac and Spanish brandy for sipping and for Sidecars, plus the liqueurs a home bar needs — orange liqueur for margaritas, cream liqueur for after dinner, herbal liqueur served straight from the freezer.
Which Spirit Should You Buy?
- For mixing at a party: blended whisky, blanco tequila, white rum or vodka. Character that survives a mixer, at a price that survives a crowd.
- For sipping neat: single malt whisky, añejo tequila or aged rum.
- For a gift: an age-stated whisky or a premium tequila — both come boxed and neither needs explaining.
- For cocktails specifically: London Dry gin, bourbon, and a blanco tequila will cover most classic recipes.
- For something nobody expects: Filipino craft single malt, Taiwanese whisky, or mezcal.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between blanco, reposado and añejo tequila?
Time in oak. Blanco is unaged and bright; reposado rests two months to a year and is rounder; añejo spends over a year in barrel and drinks more like a whisky. Blanco for margaritas, añejo for the glass.
Should I add ice or water to whisky?
Water. A few drops open up the aromatics; ice suppresses them and keeps diluting. If you want it cold, use one large cube rather than several small ones.
Does more expensive mean better?
Not reliably. Price tracks age, rarity and packaging as much as quality. Plenty of the best value in this catalogue sits in the middle of the range.
How long does an opened bottle of spirits last?
Years, unlike wine. Spirits above 20% ABV are stable once opened — keep them upright, out of sunlight, and away from heat. Cream liqueurs are the exception and should be refrigerated.
Do you deliver nationwide?
Yes. Everything is packed in secure, well-cushioned packaging built for glass, and we supply both retail and wholesale buyers across the Philippines.
For adults of legal drinking age only. Please enjoy responsibly.
