Colour From Char, Not From Colouring
Black sits between Bacardi's light rums and the heavy dark rum category. It gets its colour and its smokier edge from a heavier char on the barrels used for one of its aguardiente components — not from added colouring, which is how a lot of dark rum gets there.
The result is medium-bodied with more intensity than Gold, but without the molasses weight of a Jamaican or Demerara style.
