Talisker is the oldest single malt distillery on the Isle of Skye, built on the shore in 1830 in one of the most remote and rugged landscapes in Scotland. Few whiskies tell the story of their origin as directly — the smoke, the salt and the pepper finish read as maritime rather than medicinal, which is what separates Talisker from Islay peat.
Bottled at 45.8% rather than the usual 40%, which gives it noticeably more intensity than most ten-year-olds.

How to Serve
Neat, in a nosing glass. A few drops of water tame the pepper and open the maritime notes — worth doing on the first pour. At 45.8% it takes dilution well without falling apart.
Talisker is also one of the few malts that genuinely improves with something salty alongside it, which is why the distillery pairs it with oysters.
