Description
The word doing the work here is "unblended". In American whiskey labelling, a "blended" whiskey may legally contain grain neutral spirit — cheap, flavourless alcohol used to stretch the product. This contains none. The term on the label is a direct rejection of that practice.
It is aged in barrels that previously held bourbon rather than new charred oak, which is what puts it outside the bourbon definition. Used barrels give less aggressive oak and let the spirit itself come through.
